## Does HIDS support the installation on customer’s hosted cloud machines?

Yes, HIDS supports hosted cloud machines, but the hosted cloud machine needs to be bound to a public IP. In other words, the machine needs to have internet access to function properly.

## Can HIDS Host-based Intrusion Detection be used without public network access?

Yes, it is possible with certain conditions. If you are using UCloud cloud hosts, HIDS can be used even without public network access. The installation and usage will work fine, and the client’s data will be collected through UCloud’s public service nodes. For non-UCloud cloud hosts, communication with the backend service must be done through the public network.

## How long will the data collected by HIDS be retained?

By default, the raw data collected by HIDS will be kept for 1-3 months. The analysis results will be retained for at least 6 months.
